A Soft, Breathable DK Yarn for Knitting, Crochet & Weaving

Cotton Fleece brings together two natural fibers in a versatile blend of 80% Pima cotton and 20% Merino wool. The cotton gives the yarn strength, breathability, and a cool feel, while the Merino adds elasticity, bounce, and just enough warmth to give finished projects a little more life than an all-cotton yarn.

Soft and comfortable next to the skin, Cotton Fleece works beautifully for sweaters, cardigans, baby and children’s knits, hats, scarves, blankets, and other everyday garments and accessories. Its cotton-rich construction makes it especially useful for year-round wear and for knitters and crocheters in warmer climates who still want some of the resilience and memory of wool.

Cotton Fleece is also an excellent choice for weaving. Its smooth hand, balanced fiber blend, and wide color palette lend themselves to handwoven blankets, scarves, towels, and other textile projects.

With 215 yards in each 4-ounce skein, this DK-weight yarn offers a substantial amount of soft, natural fiber for both small projects and larger colorwork pieces.

Moth-Resistant Treatment

Brown Sheep permanently moth-proofs its wool fibers with Ecolan CEA, a non-insecticide insect-resist treatment added during the dyeing process. Brown Sheep states that the treatment bonds with the wool and does not wash, rub, or dry-clean away. It works by making the wool protein unpalatable to wool moth larvae.
