For Dry Needle Felting & Natural Animal Forms · Bioland Certified

This Filges Fairy Tale Wool earth-tone palette includes four plant-dyed colors: light brown, grey-brown taupe, dark brown, and natural white.

Made from 100% kbT Bioland-certified organic wool, this long-fiber, combed wool layers smoothly and shapes cleanly with a felting needle. It is especially useful for animals, fur textures, dolls, woodland figures, and other natural color work.

Dyed with plants using food-safe mordants, these quiet earth tones suit seasonal handwork, nature tables, and detailed surface work.

While this wool can also be wet felted, it is particularly well suited to dry needle felting. For projects that rely on wet-felted structure and even shrinkage, Filges Organic Merino Felting Wool is the better choice.

For a broader landscape palette, pair these earth tones with our Filges Fairy Tale Wool in plant-dyed greens for foliage, grass, and environmental details.

Notes on plant-dyed color

Plant dyes are inherently alive. Color may vary slightly from batch to batch due to season, harvest conditions, and plant origin — even when the same plant species is used. Natural plant dyes interact uniquely with different wool types and fiber preparations, resulting in organic variation that is expected and celebrated.
