Pentatonic Glockenspiel, 7-Tone Curved, 440 Hz – Waldorf | Auris

Auris Pentatonic Glockenspiel, 7-Tone Curved (440 Hz)

This curved pentatonic glockenspiel by Auris features a maple resonating body and beeswax-finished brass tone bars, tuned to 440 Hz for bright, clear melodic sound.

Handcrafted in Sweden, this Auris glockenspiel is tuned to the five-note pentatonic scale (D–E–G–A–B–D–E), allowing every combination of notes to sound harmonious. The pentatonic scale encourages free musical exploration and is especially well suited to Waldorf-inspired homes, classrooms, and guided music activities.

The gently curved maple body enhances resonance and brightness, creating a clearer, more projecting tone than straight-bodied models. Brass alloy tone bars are coated with beeswax to preserve their natural finish while supporting pure, rounded overtones. The maple resonating body is also beeswax-polished, reflecting Auris’ dedication to natural materials and enduring craftsmanship.

Curved Design for Brighter, Projecting Tone

This curved glockenspiel is often chosen by parents, teachers, and educators who play for children rather than holding the instrument in the lap. It sits compactly on tabletops and produces a brighter sound than Auris’ straight-bodied pentatonic glockenspiel, which is typically preferred for younger children and lap play.
