Pentatonic Glockenspiel, 7-Tone Straight – Waldorf | Auris
Auris Pentatonic Glockenspiel, 7-Tone Straight
This straight-bodied pentatonic glockenspiel by Auris features a maple resonating body and beeswax-finished brass alloy tone bars, producing a warm, mellow sound well suited to young children.
Handcrafted in Sweden, it is tuned to the five-note pentatonic scale (D–E–G–A–B–D–E), which naturally avoids dissonance. The tones blend gently and harmoniously however they are played, making it ideal for early musical exploration in Waldorf-inspired homes, homeschools, and classrooms.
The straight-sided body produces a softer tone than Auris’ curved glockenspiels and is comfortable for small hands. Its stable shape rests securely on laps and tabletops for confident, easy play. Both the brass tone bars and maple body are finished with beeswax, protecting their natural surfaces while supporting clear, rounded overtones and lasting use.
Designed for Early Childhood and Lap Play
This straight-bodied glockenspiel is often chosen for younger children and for situations where the instrument will be held rather than placed on a table. Parents and educators also appreciate its soft tone for storytelling, rest time, and quiet musical moments.
