Choroi 16-String Bordun Lyre – Replacement String Set

Replacement Strings for Choroi 16-String Bordun Lyres

The Choroi 16-String Bordun Lyre Replacement String Set is designed specifically for Choroi’s 16-string Bordun lyres, restoring clarity, balance, and reliable tuning as strings naturally wear over time.

This complete set of 16 steel strings is made to Choroi’s exact specifications and supports both pentatonic and diatonic playing, depending on how the lyre is tuned. Proper string length and gauge are essential for maintaining correct tension, resonance, and the characteristic grounded tone of the Bordun lyre, and this set is matched precisely to these instruments.

Whether replacing a single broken string or refreshing the full set, keeping authentic Choroi replacement strings on hand helps preserve the lyre’s stability and musical integrity.

Compatibility and Use

This string set fits only the following Choroi Bordun lyres:

• Choroi 16-String Bordun Lyre – Maple (55122001)
• Choroi 16-String Bordun Lyre – Cherry (55122030)
